About
Blueprint Relay is a communication challenge that every department will recognise. Each person has a vital role, and success depends on how well information passes from one link to the next.
Participants are divided into small groups with specific roles in an information network. The objective is to build an exact replica of a model from simple components, yet the builders never see the original.
Before the clock starts, teams agree a strategy. Then descriptions, questions and feedback travel through the network, while strict rules govern who may see the model and who may speak to whom.
When time is up, each replica is compared with the original. A facilitated debrief follows, in which everyone shares their experience and draws conclusions about how information really flows within your organisation.
Learning outcomes
Blueprint Relay highlights the importance of precise language, feedback and step-by-step strategy. Its rules are designed to show just how much depends on passing information on clearly and accurately. Each role depends on the others, so nobody can coast.
