About

Smoothie Supply Chain places your teams inside a fast-moving global beverage company. Each team manages one division, juggling international deliveries, tight deadlines and a range of logistical challenges.

Every division has a recipe, yet the ingredients it needs are held by other divisions. To produce its smoothie, each team must negotiate trade agreements that move resources to where they are needed. Strong relationships between divisions quickly become the most valuable asset in the room.

Once the ingredients arrive, teams blend and taste their smoothies, then develop a marketing campaign and strategy, presenting their pitch to the whole group.

Along the way, the company faces complex distribution problems, and teams must show how, by working together, they can also reduce its carbon footprint.

Learning outcomes

Smoothie Supply Chain is an enjoyable, fast-paced business simulation. Teams apply genuine management skills and strategic thinking to a supply chain challenge that mirrors everyday business.

The relaxed, informal setting encourages people to take risks, build networks and sharpen their communication as the game develops.

Collaboration is essential. The game shows exactly what happens when divisions work in silos, and becomes a powerful metaphor for cross-functional teamwork, as every team depends on the others to succeed. Teams soon see that helping another division often helps their own.

By the end, the group has managed one shared project, ensured every division received what it needed and seen how customer promises depend on a supply chain that actually works. It is a memorable lesson with a refreshing reward.
