Pedicab Sprint
Build it sturdy, style it boldly and race it to the line.

About
Pedicabs are a familiar sight on the streets of many Asian cities, and Pedicab Sprint asks each team to build one of its own, against the clock.
Working from supplied plans, teams turn a self-assembly kit of materials into a cardboard three-wheeler strong enough to carry a passenger at speed.
Once the build is complete, teams decorate their pedicab with colour and personality, adding finishing touches that make it unmistakably theirs. They also decide who will ride and who will provide the pedal power on race day.
The programme concludes with a race that tests speed and control in equal measure. With colleagues cheering from the side and a dash for the finish line, it is an energetic finale that brings the whole group together.
Learning outcomes
Transforming a flat pile of materials into a working pedicab calls for teamwork, resourcefulness and clear communication throughout.
With a clear picture of the goal, teams can form sub-teams that work in parallel, breaking a complex task into manageable parts and keeping everyone productive.
Those sub-teams must stay connected, because every part has to fit together at the end. Regular check-ins and well-defined roles stop small issues becoming large ones, a lesson that applies to any cross-functional project.
Decoration adds a creative element, and the race delivers friendly competition and one big shared moment. Teams leave proud of what they built and with a clearer sense of what they can achieve when they plan well and work as one.
