About

Chart Topper Sessions turns your team into a record label with a clear objective: write, record and release an original song in two to three hours. AI music tools make it possible for everyone, so no musical ability is needed.

The programme begins with a short, uplifting video on how music has been created through the ages. Each team then divides into two groups. One writes the lyrics, while the other learns to film and edit a music video using step-by-step guides on their phones.

Reunited, teams work with an AI music assistant to explore different genres, moods and styles, choosing their favourite from up to ten generated versions. They then film and edit the video and submit it for the premiere.

Every video is played on the big screen and the whole room votes for the winning song. The programme is entirely digital, so the energy goes into creating rather than paperwork.

Learning outcomes

Writing a song and producing a music video together develops teamwork, creativity, communication and project management in one enjoyable package. As no musical skill is required, everyone contributes, and quieter colleagues often steal the show.

Splitting into lyric and video groups and then merging the work mirrors a genuine cross-functional project. Each group depends on the other, and smooth hand-overs keep the release on schedule.

Teams gain hands-on experience with modern AI and digital tools, turning an idea into a finished product. The release deadline adds just enough pressure to sharpen problem-solving and quick decision-making. Sharing final lyrics with the video group early makes a noticeable difference.

Colleagues leave with real experience of AI, a song they created together and stronger relationships with the people who helped them make it.
